See you in the streets.

about

My name is Chris Collision. I live in Oakland, California. I like my girlfriend Noodles (aka The World’s Best Girlfriend in the World, or TWBGITW), coffee, beer, bikes, cities, HEAVY TUNES, Star Trek, (doing) the Jumble, (using) the text editor VIM, the politics of liberation, hockey, basketball, and essentially nothing else. (Okay, I sorta like movies.) See you in the streets.

I write stuff, usually collaboratively.

Right now, you can see a piece of mine next to some excellent photographs at the San Francisco Public Library.

I’ve been lucky and honored enough to contribute to the post-punk sports site The Classical. You can find links to all my pieces on my author page. One of my Classical pieces, on travel, loneliness, and minor-league hockey, got picked up by Deadspin. Currently, I’m collaborating with Tomas Rios on a hockey/fashion series called SHADE AVERY.

Before The Classical, I was equally lucky and honored enough to contribute a piece to the legendary and lamented basketball site FreeDarko: what that site’s founder called “the-long term effects of the Denver Nuggets on one human’s mind”. Less happily, I later got to contribute to the site’s final post.

I’m currently working on a book about Blue Oyster Cult. Sadly, 33 1/3 press doesn’t think it’s a good enough book for their series. Hoping to be finished with it sometime in the second quarter of 2013. If you want to look at the first chapter + rest of the pitch, let me know.

I also have a podcast project: No Headline AudioZine. Punk, food, movies, science fiction, dead people. Shit like that.
